Posted by Today the rest of the people were arriving so we had a ”on your own” day. Since I’ve been in Boston many times, I decided I would just do a walk through Boston Common. As I was leaving the hotel, it was suggested I tour the State House.
I walked down Commonwealth which has a park in the center and beautiful homes. The Common is full with people going to work, enjoying the sunny day, or just admiring the park. I could see the gold dome on the State House as I got to the end. I headed up and took a self-guided tour. It is a beautiful building with lots of historical Information.
It was too early for lunch so I walked down to Faneuil Hall. Quick Market and Faneuil Hall are way too touristy for me. I headed back toward the hotel and found a small brewery for a beer and a quesadilla.
I headed back to the hotel to freshen up before heading to a nearby grocery store for a few things I didn’t bring. I got back to the hotel and found i had walked 6.2 miles.
Tonight we had a welcome dinner for the whole tour group. It was good to meet new people.

Weather for Day 2 was obviously better than what you experienced in Gloucester and Salem on Day 1. As always, thanks for taking us along, and for your images and narrative. BTW, were these photos taken with you phone, or your camera?
