October 29, 2022 – Lexington and Concord

I stayed up last night until 12:30am to watch the end of the World Series game. I prefer watching from the west coast where games end reasonable time.
I was up at 6am to finish packing and got my bag out at 7am. I had a leisurely breakfast. We boarded the buses at 9am. They came on our bus to make sure everyone had everything because we would not return to the hotel. Two people had to go back and get whatever they had left in their rooms. We got started to Lexington only 20 minutes late.
At Lexington,we rendezvoused with our guide who took us around the green while telling us the story of the skirmish at Lexington. We visited the cemetery which contains the descendants of the men killed at Lexington.
Next we drove to Concord. Along the way we saw where Paul Revere got stopped by the British. At Concord we went across the bridge where the battle was fought. The guide was very knowledgeable and told us a lot about that day.
After Concord we returned to Boston. We were dropped off at Faneuil Hall and given two hours to get lunch and see any last minute sites. We headed to the ship and by 3:30pm we were on board. Many of the dining room and bar staffs remembered me.
We had our life boat drill at 5pm and a port presentation at 630pm.
Dinner was delicious. I’m going to bed early because I’m really tired.
Provincetown tomorrow.

  1. Here I’ve lived in Massachusetts over 50 years and haven’t been to Lexington, Concord, or Salem…or even some of the Boston spots you saw. Provincetown? Many times! I’m hoping this nice weather we are having continues for your trip.
