Yesterday, November 10th, we had to put our bags out at 630am. Breakfast ran from 7 to 8. We all had to be out of our cabins by 8:45am. In a typical “hurry up and wait”, we sat around until our buses showed up at 945am. I played pinochle while i waited. My team lost!
We had a bus tour of Nassau with a few bathroom and photo stops. We stopped at a place where we saw a flamingo show. The flamingoes would march 9n command. Next we went to a rum distillery where we given large glasses of Pina Coladas. At 2pm we were dropped at an area on Paradise Island with shops and restaurants to have lunch. Unfortunately the restaurants didn’t open until 4pm and we had to be back on the bus by 3:15pm. Six of us fast walked to the Paradise Island Margaritaville restaurant. We ordered immediately and, because everything is on Island time, our food came at 245pm. We quickly ate and fast walked back to our bus.
We arrived at our hotel, Margaritaville, right before 4pm. I joined a long line waiting to check in. After 30 minutes I got to the desk. They took my info and told me they would email me when they had a room ready. I looked for my bags and found them. After 20 minutes I got an email that my room was ready. It was 5:15pm. The line of people waiting to register was still long. I made arrangements with Chuck to meet at 7pm to go get dinner.
My room looks down on the swimming pools. I only unpacked what I need for the next 2 days.
Right before 7pm I went down to the lobby. George, our tour leader, was there. He told me that I’ll leave for the airport at 930am. Chuck came in and George told us not to go out for dinner. He said it was dangerous after dark. We decided to try the pizza place on the second floor. After walking around the 2nd floor we asked where it was. An employee walked us to the end of the floor, took us down to the first floor and there was the pizza place with only To Go pizzas. We ended up In the Cafe. Jim joined us for dinner.
After a long day, I went to bed early.
November 11, 2022
After breakfast, I walked around the pools.
I met Doug, Diane, and Chuck and we set off to wander around downtown. We went to the Straw Market after checking out a store. Prices in the Straw Market were the same but you could bargain with them. It was hot and humid so we stopped in stores with air-conditioning to cool off. I bought a dress to wear for our farewell dinner tonight.
Back at the hotel, Doug, Diane, and I went tubing around the river. At 1pm, we met up with Chuck and walked to the area called “Fish Fry” containing many fish fry restaurants. We ate at Curly’s.
Chuck, Doug, and Diane went to the pools after lunch. I went to my room to work on the blog. I was able to get some good pictures of them from my balcony.
Tonight is the farewell dinner. I’ll post this before I go.

Great Blog Elsie! It was soooo much fun meeting and hanging out with you! Look forward to another travel adventure one of these days!
