Alicante is our last port. I did an excursion called “Shopping with a Chef”. Ten of us met our guide and headed to the Market. There we met the Chef who was an Argentinean who lives here. We walked through the market while he explained the different foods to us. The market is huge. In fact, it is the largest in Europe. There was everything from fish to meat to cheese to vegetables. After the tour of the market we headed to a restaurant for tapas. We started with Spanish Tortilla. It is like a potato quiche. It was very good. Second we got a small sandwich of fresh grilled tuna with red pimento. The last dish was a rice dish which was a shrimp and calamari paella. It was really delicious. After lunch our guide took us on a walk to see the major sights of the city.
We were back on the ship by 1pm. I spent the afternoon packing. Tomorrow, I am going to leave the ship around 930am and go to the rental office for the apartment and leave my luggage. I’ll try to meet up with Steve to have lunch and then head back to the department to get in and wait for Oscar’s arrival. He should be there around 3pm.

Sounds terrific. How was passing past Gibraltar? Love yr blog. Enjoy every minute
