October 4, 2024 – Pleasanton to Montreal

Our flight from SFO to Montreal was uneventful. We quickly made it through immigration and got a taxi to get to our hotel. It was raining out and after 9pm so very dark when we got to Vieux Montreal. Unfortunately the streets were all blocked due to a fire in a very old building. After trying to get us to the hotel, the driver pulled over and said “the hotel is down this street” but then he asked me to try calling the hotel. The hotel manager answered and had me give the phone to our driver. We got back in the taxi and drove down an alley to a door where the hotel manager was waiting to help us in through the back door. After dropping our bags off in pur rooms, we headed to the bar for a drink to help us relax.
